Conveniently located in a characterful, old school building in the Newton area, Skyve is one of my favourite places to chill out and take a friend from out of town for a nice meal. The vibe is colonial-retro, and even when it’s packed, it still feels very relaxed. It may have something to do with its lush green, tranquil surroundings which is kinda rare considering it is smack in town.
It’s also one of the few places in Singapore that serves All-Day Breakfast / Brunch ALL week long, between 10 – 4pm. Why do we have to wait till the weekends to have our eggs benedict, truffles scrambled eggs or even pancakes? I certainly don’t!
The ricotta pancakes with homemade passionfruit butter is rather special as the texture is moist yet not too dense and has a slightly unusual flavour to it. Eggs benedict are delicious and always a great choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch, and if breakfast ain’t your thing, then try their spicy prawn linguine that is packed full with taste and flavour!
My other favourite is their Crepe Suzette which is done beautifully with a refreshing, light and tangy sauce, served with honey comb ice cream. I crave one just about every other day and have to resist the need to rush out there every time I have such an urge.
Weekends are usually packed so make your reservations at least 2 days ahead at 6225 6690.
