So I finally got to savour the “best” high tea buffet at the Tea Lounge at the Regent hotel and I must say, it didn’t disappoint. When you have to book at least 2 months in advance, your expectations are bound to be raised. I’m no connoisseur but, I do know the difference between quality and crap, so there! When a lovely display of colourful macaroons is the first thing you see when you walk in, how can you not be impressed? I didn’t get to taste the macaroons though ( I was too full by then!) but my friend, Danny said it wasn’t great, but he still ended eating 3 of them!

The buffet had a nice mix of western and asian fare, and which included your satays and dim sums but what interests me more was the traditional Western fare like smoked salmon, duck rillette,  roast beef, caviar, a complete cheese spread, and a whole section dedicated to scones served with clotted cream and a dozen flavours of jam! Any place that serves scones with clotted cream deserves special mention. There’s also plenty of choices when it comes to dessert which is always important  to a bunch of girls because even if we don’t try them all, we want to see that they have it all! I had a taste of the profiteroles with a candied caramel top – they were divine, and the waffles with ice cream were just….Mmmm. I think the pictures say it all.

Pink dessert and jelly beans? How to resist!Cheese
